Official laminated NASA / Department of Defense badge worn by Kurt H. Debus, the first director of NASA's Launch Operations Center, during President John F. Kennedy's visit to Cape Canaveral on November 16, 1963, less than a week before his assassination in Dallas. The badge, 2.75 x 3.75, features the central presidential seal with surrounding text: “Presidential Tour, NASA / DOD, Cape Canaveral, 16 NOV 1963.” In fine condition.

Provenance: Regency-Superior Auction, 2013. From the collection of Shirley Fergerson Farino, a longtime executive secretary to Debus.
