Gupta Dynasty, Kumaragupta I alias Mahendraditya (415-455 CE), Gold Dinar, “Horseman – left” type, Obv: the king, nimbate, riding a ceremonially adorned horse to the right, wearing a necklace and armlets and his sash flowing out from behind, holding a bow in his right hand whose upper part is visible just above the neck of the horse and a sword hangs down on his left side, Brahmi legend "(Guptakulama lachandro Mahendra karma jito Jaya)ti" around the field, the letter 'ti' of the legend placed between the head of the king & the bow, Rev: the goddess Lakshmi, seated facing left on a draped stool, the left hand of the goddess rests on her waist, holding a lotus with a long stalk, she is seen offering fruits hanging from a twig in her right hand to a peacock, the Brahmi legend “Ajitamahendrah” on the right, 8.1g, 18.20mm, (Altekar. Bayana Hoard # Pl. XXV-1-4/TOTGE, S. Kumar # Class III-Var. B), about very fine, Very Rare.
