Gupta Dynasty, Kumaragupta I alias Mahendraditya (415-455 CE), Gold Dinar, "Archer" type, Without 'Ku', Obv: the king standing, nimbate, facing left, holding a longbow in his left hand and an arrow in his right, a Garuda standard on the left field, the Brahmi legend around "Paramarajadhiraja, (Sri-Ku)maragupta", the letter 'Pta' of the legend placed between the head of the king & the head of the garuda, Rev: the goddess Lakshmi, nimbate, seated in the raised Padmasana on a seven-petaled lotus, holding a diadem in her right hand and a lotus in her left hand, whose stem is coming from inside the hand resting on her thigh, a tamgha on the top-left field, the Brahmi legend "Sri Mahendra" on the right field, dotted border around,8.0g, 19.72mm, (Altekar, Bayana Hoard # Pl. XXI-2-3/TGE, S. Kumar # Class III-Var. A), reverse showcases exceptional strike, about extremely fine, Very Rare. Note: On the obverse, there is a notable absence of the Brahmi letter 'Ku' beneath the king's arm. The reverse depicts the goddess seated in a raised padmasana with a unique headgear, and her hand delicately cradles a fully bloomed lotus, enhancing the elegance of this exceptional specimen.
