<td width="100%">
A fine and rare Korean Old Silla Dynasty, (Pre-Unified), Covered Stem Bowl, ca. 57B.C.-A.D.668. Dimensions are approximately 6" tall, 5-5/8" diameter. Most likely dating to the 4th-5th century A.D.. This high fired black-gray stoneware pedestal bowl is comprised of a covered bowl with graceful mouth rim and an original squared-sided dome cover with small flared nob. The lid is in itself a rare find as most such pedestal bowls are missing the original cover or the cover is broken.The top of the bowl is decorated with 2 concentric circles of diagonally etched lines. The bowl further sits on a tall broadly flaring pedestal with a wide foot. At the top of the pedestal, just below the bowl, are 3 long and narrow cutouts. The pedestal is further decorated with 2 concentric depressed rings circumvent the pedestal just below the cutouts. Condition consensus is extremely fine condition with only a few minor and inconsequential rim chips on the edge of the cover.
