Russian physicist (1857–1935) who pioneered the study of rocketry and cosmonautics and whose discoveries were of crucial importance in the development of manned space travel. Handwritten manuscript, in Russian, signed in the body four times, “K. Tsiolkovsky,” two pages both sides, 5.75 x 8.75, 1931. An untranslated document, likely making reference to rocketry, signed four times and including a small marginal sketch of a man. In very good condition, with mild toning, wrinkling, and faint staining, pages held together with string at one corner, and loss to one corner affecting a few words, the majority of the document remaining quite clean and clear.
