The work on hand was shot by the German photographer Klaus Frahm in 2012. It shows the Berlin Ensemble shot from the stage. Frahm shot a series of different stages in which the technical structures that make up the backstage are juxtaposed with the glitz and glam of the seating hall. Klaus Frahm managed to underline these opposites through the help of light and color.



The work is in very good condition. It is framed in a good quality HALBE magnetic frame. The overall dimensions, framed are 114.5 x 142 cm and the dimensions of the sheet are 100 x 128 cm. The artist’s label verso features some details on the work, such as the title ‘Berliner Ensemble’, the edition ‘2/7’ and another signature.



Klaus Frahm (b. 1953)

Klaus Frahm was born near Hamburg in 1953. In the years between 1974 and 1976 he studied ethnology and journalism. By the time he finished his studies in 1976 he was already granted his first solo exhibition. Numerous national and international exhibitions followed and his work is featured in various prominent private and public collections. His photographs are part of the Stedelijk Museum in Amsterdam, the Canadian Center for Architekture in Montréal, the Fundacio Joan Miro in Barcelona or the Modern Museum of Art in Tokyo, amongst others. He has been awarded numerous prizes, such as for example the prize of the German Art Directors Club.
