King of Great Britain and Ireland (1765–1837) from 1830 to 1837, he earned the sobriquet ‘Sailor King’ for his youthful service in the Royal Navy. ALS signed “William,” one page, 7.25 x 8.75, November 5, 1825. Letter to Sir Henry Hotham. In part: “Princess Augusta who is now with us has expressed a wish of seeing yourself and Lady Francis.” Intersecting folds (one vertical fold passing through last letter of the signature), and scattered toning, otherwise fine condition. Accompanied by the original mailing envelope.
