An order to the Treasurer General of his Civil List, Jean-Baptiste Tourteau de Septeuil, ordering him to pay 115 livres 15 sols to S. Le Brun at Fontainebleu, for reimbursement of the expenses of the regiment of hunters during 1791. King Louis XVI had always preferred hunting to his royal duties. On September 22, 1792, just eight months after signing this document, the French Republic was proclaimed. On December 11, 1792, King Louis XVI went before the National Convention to face charges of treason. He was convicted and guillotined on January 21, 1793. Slighty soiled, tears at top edge. Clear signature of King Louis XVI in the center of the document above the fold. Overall, in fine condition.
