German-born actor (1875–1965) best known for playing Captain Englehorn in King Kong and The Son of Kong. Rare oversized vintage matte-finish 9 x 14 portrait of Reicher in costume as Ferrand and smoking a cigarette, signed and inscribed in fountain pen, “To Mrs. Peck, in remembrance of Frank Reicher as ‘Ferrand’ in ‘The Pigeon,’ Little Theatre, April 1912.” In fine condition, with some moderate contrast to inscription and signature against his dark pants. Reicher appeared in the stage play The Pigeon, written by Nobel Prize winner John Galsworthy, from March to May, 1912, at the Little Theatre in New York. A scarce and sought-after portrait with a gorgeous, clear image.
