Stylish original concept drawing of Kong by Mentor Huebner for the 1976 Paramount Pictures remake of the classic monster film King Kong, accomplished in charcoal on an off-white 17 x 22 sheet, signed and inscribed in the lower right in pencil, "Bob—From Mentor." The large, imposing drawing shows the fearsome gorilla secured in a form-fitting barrel-shaped metal cage, restrained with shackles at its ankles. Matted and framed to an overall size of 22 x 28, with the backing captioned: "One of the original designs submitted for holding 'King Kong' after being captured—to Bob Shelton from artist and studio art department." In very good to fine condition, with light wrinkling and uniform toning, and the sheet slightly loose at the top of the mat. Mentor Huebner (1917–2001) was a leading Hollywood production illustrator and storyboard artist who worked on more than 250 films, including King Kong (1976), Blade Runner (1982), The Thing (1982), Dune (1984), and Francis Ford Coppola's Dracula (1992).
