Scarce signed book: The Story of Princess Elizabeth. Later printing. London: John Murray, 1930. Hardcover with dust jacket, 5.75 x 8, 127 pages. Signed on the first free end page in fountain pen by the Queen Mother, "Elizabeth, 1931," and by the future king as Prince Albert of York, "Albert, 1931." In fine condition, with some light soiling to the dust jacket and John Murray's signed bookplate affixed to the first free end page. Accompanied by a fine custom-made quarter-leather clamshell case, and two letters to Murray: one from the Beryl Poignand, governess to the Queen Mother, expressing delight that the "book is to be transcribed for the blind"; and one from H.R.H. The Duke of York's office, returning the signed book to him. A significant association copy, signed for the publisher prior to Albert's ascension to the throne as King George VI.
