King of Great Britain and Ireland (1762–1830) from 1820 to his death. The eldest son of George III, he alienated his subjects with his prodigious spending and contemptuous treatment of his wife, Queen Caroline, whom he refused to admit to his coronation. DS, signed “George R,” one page both sides, 9.5 x 14.5, March 25, 1822. Document issued to the Officer in command of the forces in Jamaica, bestowing the power to convene court-martials and execute sentences. Intersecting folds, one through a single letter of signature, scattered toning and soiling, mainly to borders, small pencil notations, and scattered edge wear, otherwise very good condition. The seal is toned and crisp.
