King Frederick V Document Signed
Frederick V Document Signed "Friderich R" as king. Two pages, 7.75" x 12.5", dated January 8, 1816, Copenhagen. Frederick (1723 - 1766), King of Denmark and Norway, was first married to Princess Louise. They were parents of seven children. After Louise died in 1751, Frederick married a second time to Juliana Maria. They were parents of seven additional children. King Frederick was also the father of five illegitimate children. Frederick and his ministers avoided involving Denmark in the European wars of his time, even remaining neutral for the duration of the Seven Years' War despite its proximity to combatants Russia and Sweden. The king died after 43 years of life and twenty years of reign. His last words were reportedly, "It is a great consolation to me in my last hour that I have never willfully offended anyone and that there is not a drop of blood on my hands." The document is in very good condition with pencil notations.

Shipping: Flat Material, Small (view shipping information)
