Extremely Rare - Coronation Plate of King Edward V11 and Queen Alexander in 1901: Made by Langton Porcelain Co., stamped on the back. Measures 7" inches Diameter. This lovely plate is over 100 years old and certainly a collector's item for those interested in British, Royal, and European history. Porcelain collector's will also appreciate this fine antique piece. As shown in the detailed photos above, the plate has no chips or scratches or crazing and is in fantastic condition. Portraits are in excellent condition, some wear of gilding along outside rim. Colors and artwork are bright and in excellent condition.
At either side of their portraits are a flag - at one side showing the flag with the four emblems of England, Ireland, Scotland and Wales and at the other side the Union Jack. On the opposite side of the plate is the Royal Crest with the lion and the unicorn, coat of arms and crown on top and in latin Honi Soit Qui Mal y pense - Evil to those whom evil thinks.
King Edward VII (born Albert Edward; 9 November 1841 ? died 6 May 1910) was King of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland, of the British Dominions beyond the Seas, and Emperor of India from 22 January 1901 until his death on 6 May 1910.
