King Edward VII writes to the President of Honduras (Manuel Bonilla) “that Our Dearly-beloved Daughter-in-law Her Royal Highness the Princess of Wales, Consort of Our Dearly-beloved Son His Royal Highness George Prince of Wales, Duke of Cornwall and York &c &c was safely delivered of a Prince at York Cottage near Sandringham at five minutes past three o'clock on the morning of the 12th instant…” The document is darkly penned and lightly foxed and is in fine condition. The blank verso of the integral leaf is soiled. Prince John, born July 12, 1905, was the youngest child of the future King George V and Queen Mary. His two eldest brothers became Kings Edward VIII and George VI. His niece is Queen Elizabeth II. Prince John was only 13 when he died on January 18, 1919. Very little was publicly known of the sixth child of Britain's royal family. He did not appear at public festivities and was schooled at home. Saturday.” The Lost Prince, the story of Prince John, kept out of the public eye because he had epilepsy, won three 2005 Emmy Awards including Outstanding Miniseries.
