Bulgarian czar and dictator (1894-1943) who came to the throne in 1918 upon the abdication of his father, following the defeat of the Kingdom of Bulgaria during World War I. Vintage matte-finish 9 x 11.5 photo of an etching of a young Boris, affixed to its original 12.75 x 17 mount, signed on the mount in fountain pen, and dated “Sophia, 26.VI. 1922.” Moderate silvering to edges of image, scattered toning, creasing, and foxing to mount, some surface loss to three of the corners, and missing one corner tip, otherwise very good condition.
