Rare and Desirable Kimball Semi-Automatic Pistol, #128, .30 Carb. cal., 5'' barrel, blue finish, checkered black plastic grips, with adjustable sights and one original magazine. In fitted period case, dating from approx. 1956. In theory, it had an excellent method of locking the breech until the pressure dropped. In practice, it gouged an annular ring around the inside of the chamber. Upon firing, the case expanded into the ring and made extraction difficult. Only 238 specimens were ever mfg'd. Condition is excellent retaining approx. 97% original lightly thinning blue with minor high edgewear. Grips show little use. Maroon-lined box is quite possibly original, with scuffing to the exterior; male portion of clasp has gone missing. A rare firearm oddity from the Golden Age of American prosperity when almost every design was tried at least once, whether it be cars, aircraft or firearms. Est.: $1,200-$1,800.
