Mines at Beveridge District, Lone Pine, Inyo County, California printed on the masthead. The Keynote mine is located 10 miles east of Lone Pine at 7,500’ elevation. The mine was worked continuously from 1878 to 1886, then periodically up to 1907. Development work consisted of 7 tunnels, varying from 150’ to 750’. The tunnels were connected by winzes and raises (Mines and Mineral Resources of Alpine, Inyo and Mono County, CA State Mining Bureau, 1916). In the 1880’s, the mine had a 5-stamp mill at work, together with arresters and produced over $152,000 of gold in the last 8 months of 1883.
