Kentucky style Flintlock rifle circa 1820-1830’s with lock signed “C.Robins”. The rifle is full stocked with brass mounts and patch box showing large oval body with arrowhead shaped front. The patch box andinlay into fore end show simple engraving. The barrel shows no signature but small engraved star and designs which follow thru onto the thin brass side plate. The lock is secured by 2 screws. The rifle measures5-1/2” overall with 41” barrel octagon barrel of medium weight approx 50 cal. deep rifled. The stock shows no stripping or grain and has a reddish colored stain. There are large areas of repair and wood replacement in thefore end which is well done. There are small losses and the butt stock behind the lock is good, the metal surfaces are in good condition with a dark patina, some light to moderate pitting. The lock is in itsoriginal Flintlock configuration with its original small parts. The rifle is somewhat light and thin and is last of the Flintlock era Kentucky rifles.
