<B> Kentucky Slavery Autograph Letter Signed</B></I> "<I> S.J. Henry</B></I>". One page, 7.5" x 10.0", April 29, 1861, Henrysville, Kentucky with cover addressed to S.T. Short, Bremen, Kentucky. This letter, requesting a new bill of sale, partially reads "<I>...he sold the niggro for $800 .00 dollars & I have taking (sic) out the expenses that the girl has bin (sic) to since she left your house...he fild (sic) up the Bill of Sail (sic) Rong (sic)...</B></I>". Moderate ink stains, small area of paper loss to left margin, three small splits not affecting manuscript. Good condition. Included is an unsigned manuscript invoice, one page, 7.75" x 6.5", 1860. This document details the expenses S.T. Short incurred while trying sell one of S.J. Henry's female slaves. $5 of the total $36 due were for "<I> ...trying to sell the girl...</B></I>". Light browning and folds, Fine condition. All items are mounted in a 15.5" x 18.5" frame.
