Kentucky Rifle.
Description OL: 64 - 1/2". BL: 48 - 1/2". TB: Octagon to round. LM: Flintlock. Original and replaced. PB: 4-piece. S: Curly Maple. SR: Lengthened. Two silver inlays. This Kentucky rifle is signed "H. Albright" in script. There is no question that the original 48 - 1/2-inch octagon to round barrel goes with the curly maple buttstock with its fine "horse-head" finial patchbox and original silver crescent moon cheekpiece inlay, as does its trigger guard. The stock has been restored but the joint line is well-hidden. While the lock is a period original flintlock, the brass sideplate and oval silver thumb-piece are replacements, as are the three ramrod ferrule. Of note, Hennry Alrbight, the son of Andreas Albright, worked in Lancaster then moved to Franklin County and then back to the Nazareth area. Condition (Poor).
