Kentucky Rifle.
Description OL: 62 - 3/4". BL: 47 - 1/4". TB: Octagon to round. LM: Flintlock. Re-conversion. PB: None. Incise carving. This Kentucky fowler is signed "M. Fordney" in script and is perhaps one of his most pleasing fowlers known with a plain maple stock with a superb untouched surface. This stock is beautifully relief and incised carved and also has exceptional carving in front of the lock. The nose-cap and the trigger guard have his classic bold engraving, as does the barrel itself. The original Dreppard lock has been well re-converted back to its original flintlock ignition. The architecture of the stock is very graceful and the carving around the tang, lock, comb, and also the carving beside the rear ramrod ferrule is exceptional in quality and design. In fact, this fowler may very well be the best known, as yet. Condition (Fine).
