Statesman and diplomat (1853–1942) in Meiji period Japan who was a strong proponent of good diplomatic relations with the United States. ALS in English, two pages on two adjoining sheets, 5.25 x 7.25, official letterhead, April 24, 1928. Letter to Darwin P. Kingsley. In part: "It gives me great pleasure to introduce to you, Mr. T. Takahashi, a member of the House of Peers, who now sails for America to attend the International Parliament Conference in Paris.” In fine condition, with mirroring to ink. Accompanied by the original mailing envelope, addressed in Kaneko’s hand.
