Title is "Searching for the Source". 10" by 12" unframed, 13 3/4" by 15 3/4" framed. Artist statement on back: "The shores of St. Marys Lake do a great job of making a person small. The good thing is it makes your problems smaller too. Those moments of still beauty pass from the waters into the heart." Here at Davis Brothers Auction we take active efforts to support Montana Artists. We work hard to bring you artists we consider to be modern masters of their craft. We hope you take this opportunity to own a masterpiece. Kenneth Yarus was raised in Kalispell Montana, not far from Glacier National Park. The landscape inspired him, along with many artists who encouraged his passion. Using the John and Anne Taylor Scholarship he was able to pursue an Academic Education at the Ashland Academy of Art and Grand Central Academy of Art. New York City taught many lessons, and a longing for the wilderness was one. Ken returned to the mountains of Montana to paint plein air and large landscapes, aiming to capture the immensity and value of the mountains. "My personal love for nature and adventure inspire my art. I strive to communicate an emotional value about my subjects by exploring the nuances of colors and textures that make them unique. Balancing the realistic representation and the deeper emotional value is a constant struggle that will always motivate my work." - AWARDS AND RECOGNITION - -Sperry Chalet Artist in Residence 2021 -Hockaday Purchase Award - Plein air Paint out 2019 -Bold Brush Contest Winner June 2018 -Member of the Montana Painters Alliance 2018 -Artist Wilderness Connection - Bob Marshall Residency 2017 -Finalist in the ARC Salon 2017 Landscape Category-Winner of "Gold Key" regionally for Scholastic Art and Writing competition -Winner of the John and Ann Taylor Scholarship Kalispell Montana-Studied at the Ashland Academy of Art and the prestigious Grand Central Academy, in New York
