Color 22 x 18.5 silkscreen print entitled 'A Very Special Christmas' made by Keith Haring in 1987, produced in an unnumbered edition of about 300 (one hundred of which were signed by Haring). In fine condition, with a very light stain to the upper left corner. Accompanied by a letter of authenticity from Jeff Gold, owner of Recordmecca and former vice president of creative services at A&M Records, in part: "A Very Special Christmas was the brainchild of record producer (and now head of Apple Music) Jimmy Iovine, conceived as a memorial for his father, and to raise funds for the Special Olympics. The first album, released in 1987 featured artists including Bruce Springsteen, Sting, U2, Madonna and Run-DMC performing Christmas songs. In the years since, nine more albums have been released in the series, overall raising over $100 million for the Special Olympics. Keith Haring created the iconic artwork used on every album in the series. While vice president of creative services at A&M Records, I was co-art director for the project. Working with Haring’s office, I commissioned these silkscreen prints, which were given to the project’s participants and used as promotional giveaways. Approximately 300 were made, with Haring signing 100 (this is one of the unsigned examples, but still very rare)." A scarce and highly desirable print from a legendary artist.
