For your consideration is a pair (2) of Matching Kazan Signed Japanese Satsuma Hand Painted Porcelain Vases, Taisho Era, circa 1912-1926, Shimazu crest. Hand-painted cartouche on bottom reads, "Kazan Taisho Period 1912-1926." Pair of Satsuma baluster form vases, gilded polychromatic enamel over glaze designed landscape with temples, mountains, Hogyoku and Red Leaf maple trees and streams/waterfalls against an ivory cream-coloured base. Satsuma ware (???, Satsuma-yaki) is a type of Japanese pottery originally from Satsuma Province, southern Kyushu. These Satsuma vases are in very nice preserved condition, intricate and stunning hand painting. No marring observed, each measures 8.5"H x 4.5"W at widest portion, 2.5" diameter mouth, 3.5" base approx., approx. weight total 2lb.*
