c1900 Bronze sculpture by the renowned artist "C. Kauba," also signed by him. This intricately detailed piece depicts a brave astride his horse, pausing to look back. The detailing of the war bonnet, the saddle blankets, the rider's fringed chaps, and the horse's knotted reins is exquisite, not to mention the man and the horse. Some of the bronze has been colorized, such as the saddle blankets and the brave's face and hands. This 12" high by 14" long sculpture sits on a rough-hewn yellow marble base. Austrian Carl Kauba (1865-1922) produced a number of bronze figures of the west, specializing in Indians. This is a very powerful and historic piece. Gordon Harris Estate - HKA#66087
