Sister of Orville and Wilbur Wright (1874–1929). ALS, three pages on two adjoining sheets, 5 x 6.5, April 24, 1914. Letter to Mrs. Needham. In part: “Surely it was not that I did not appreciate your ‘shower’ of daffodils and hyacinths and jellies that I have been so tardy in thanking you but because I have been in such vile moods that I didn’t want to go near my desk…Father (and the rest of us) have been sampling his grape jelly to such an extent that one glass is gone.” End of letter and reverse of other page bear 2003 commemorative cancellations and stamps. Toning to second page, show-through from stamps and a small separation to central horizontal fold, otherwise fine condition.
