Katharine Lee Bates autograph letter signed, dated 12 June 1921 on ''Wellesley College / Department of English'' stationery, where Bates taught English. Here, Bates informs a Mr. Winslow that she has asked her publishers to send him a copy of her new book of poems, ''The Retinue,'' and that she is also including an autographed copy of ''the hymn you are so good as to like'', doubtless her famous ''America the Beautiful.'' Letter measures 5.5'' x 8.5'' on one page, with a minor horizontal fold. Else near fine condition, with nice, clear ''Katharine Lee Bates'' signature at letter's close.
