<td width="100%">
Kakemono on silk , The portraiture of the warrior occupies an important part in Japanese painting history. In this colored silk, the artist painted a mounted warrior ready to go to war. This warrior however, is shown attired in the ceremonial court dress of the times, instead of in armour. We can consider this style was the oldest style of dressing in which the warrior made his appearance in portraits.

The signature says, Made by TI KU Ga (or Yu-ku Ga)
and stands 62 inches H , and almost 19 inches wide , made close to 1850 , some wormage at the frame consistent with age of the piece .
