“First Edition Lithograph after the original oils by Charles Bird King and James Otto Lewis 1836-1844”
This print measures 10.5 x 15 and the mat measures 20 x 16. This print has very little wear, there are some minor marks in the lower half. Overall the piece is in fine condition. Kai-Pol-E-Qua or "White-Nosed Fox" was a leader of the Sauk nation who gained rank through his exceptional military abilities. According to James Hall, he was considered "one of the most distinguished braves of the nation." In this portrait, originally painted by Charles Bird King, he wears a medallion and holds a sword.
