It's one of only two Date Backs known on the bank, and the only $5.00. All four of the then known Kahului Territorials were in the Ostheimer collection, and were then obtained by J.L. Irish, where they became part of his fabulous collection of Territorials. They were sold over two sales in 1997, with the last offering of any kind from here coming in 2000, when a $10 Date Back realized over $25,000 at auction. All four of the Ostheimer-Irish notes now reside in very strong hands, making this newly discovered example perhaps the sole example from here most collectors will ever have the opportunity to own for many years. <B>Very Good-Fine,</B></I> the signatures faded but otherwise a solid note which is likely to realize somewhat in excess of our likely conservative estimate of...
