1962 This lot consists of two beautifully handcrafted Kachina dolls and programs from two annual pow wows that took place in 1962 and 64 in Flagstaff, Arizona. 1). This is an Apache Devil Dance Kachina that is about 19” tall and about 10” wide with arms spread. The doll is on a log biscuit stand and is carved from wood and festooned with leather and puka shell clothing. He is painted brightly and wields two large knives. The second is a Navajo carved Roadrunner doll that stands about 14” and is about 8” wide, with his arms also extended, but holding feathers instead of weapons. This doll is also decorated in leather, enhanced with beads and turquoise pieces. He also appears to be wearing a rabbit fur tunic. Both are in near new condition . The two programs make interesting and atmospheric reading and accompany the dolls. Looking at 50-year-old publications with ads is also a fun diversion. Fairbanks Collection - HKA#65203
