Two letters from the Dachau concentration camp written by Leon Poprawa, born 28.6.1909, prisoner number 28391, Block 28/1, Dachau 3K. Three page letter, dated 21. II 1942, written to his Mother and siblings: 'Dearest mother, brothers and sisters! Thank you for the last letter. I'm happy you are all healthy and that sister received some money...it is not all the money...he is worried about giving away the money, but I'm not surprised since I'm not writing him. He owes me three times as much as he has given you. Anton and family can continue to send me money, thank him that he has thought of me and sent me money. I look forward to your letter. Anton can take care of my business if he is able to. I thank all friends that have thought of me. I'm happy everything is going well with you, Greetings to all relatives and friends at home. Your son and brother Leon.' KL Dachau censorship stamp on page three, 8.25 x 5.75 inches. The second letter has been cut (censored?) at the left edge, dated 7.3. with a wrong year, he confuses his birthyear with the present year. Leon writes his to his mother: 'My dearest mother! thank you for the last news, thank god you are healthy and that you are doing well. Thank you for the 23 Reichsmark. Think of my in your prayers.
