KONSTANTIN VON NEURATH
(1873-1956) German diplomat, foreign minister of Germany between 1932 and 1938. Tried as a major war criminal in Nuremberg and sentenced to fifteen years imprisonment for his compliance and actions in the Nazi regime. War-date typed L.S., 1p. 8vo., Berlin, Dec. 31, 1941, to FRITZ TODT (1891-1942), Reich Minister for Arms and Ammunition until his death in a plane crash. Neurath writes: "... For sending the poems about the recruitment of the Front workers, I thank you kindly. At the same time, I warmly reciprocate your good wishes for the New Year." The note is signed by Neurath in green ink, and has been initialed by Todt in green pencil in the upper right corner. The note is typed on stationery bearing Neurath's title as the Reichs Protector of Bohemia and Moravia. Fine.
