The first person to adopt a scientific approach to rocket-powered space travel. At age 24, he concluded an abstract of the relationships between rocket velocity, mass of propellant, and velocity of ejected gases, his famous ‘rocket equation’ which laid the foundations for future rocket design. Annotation in Russian laid to cover of self-published book, contents lacking. In full, “<i>V. Common notes. Conclusions about rocket. Kaluga, 1912</i>.” Penned in purple ink. In blue ink Tsiolkovski pens beneath, “<i>To add and sort. K.
