An illustrated quarterly. No.1.January 1896. Leonard Smithers 1896. With plates and illustrations, pp iv(adverts), 170, (1), 4to, original printed boards, uncut : worn at corners, spine heavily worn but binding strong, internally clean and very good.The first of the eight numbers of the incomparable 'Savoy', edited by Arthur Symons and dominated by Beardsley's illustrations. This first number includes W. B. Yeats's "The Binding of the Hair' and 'Two Poems'. The Beardsley Christmas card, usually tipped in at end, is not present. (2) LESLIE ( Sir Shane ). The Poems of Shane Leslie. London : At the Cayme Press, 1928. FIRST EDITION, 96-pages, 4to, original cloth, gilt : the binding, though sound and strong, is a little rubbed and lightly stained, otherwise a very good to nice copy. One of 350 copies, numbered and signed by the author, this copy further nscribed on the limitation leaf No. "193 and is for Lady Patricia Moore", also, on front endpaper "I pour forth the essences of my / songs like perfume on your / feet - Shane", and, on the rear endpaper "For my sweet Little Patricia / Rodin's Hand of God / They do not speak nor weep / they do not jist nor chide [and four further lines] / Shane Leslie".
