KENNEDY, JOHN F.
(1917 - 1963) Thirty-fifth President of the United States. Kennedy faced-down the Kruschev during the Cuban Missile Crisis, re-invigorated NASA, and signed the Nuclear Test Ban Treaty. Assassinated. Interesting A.Ms. (unsigned) as President on yellow legal pad sheet, 1p. legal folio, Washington, July 30, 1963, in pencil. Kennedy emphatically writes: ""Portuguese impossible [underlined twice]àNorwegiansà.Norwegiansàbest we can getàabstainedà"" with a small doodle at bottom. Also included is a typed listing ""The President's Appointments"" for July 30, with telling notes in another hand; ""Portuguese meeting"" penciled in at 11:00 AM, and ""(Laos)"" written beside ""OFF RECORD MEETING"". Very good condition. Interesting to note that in the summer of 1963 Kennedy first sent ""advisors"" to Laos to oversee efforts to avoid North Vietnamese infiltration. Portugal and Norway were both NATO members, perhaps explaining Kennedy's comments.
