(KENNEDY, JOHN F.)
(1917 - 1963) Thirty-fifth President of the United States. Kennedy faced-down the Kruschev during the Cuban Missile Crisis, re-invigorated NASA, and signed the Nuclear Test Ban Treaty. Assassinated. An incredible Kennedy family relic, a super original 19"" x 13"" b/w portrait showing Kennedy, with Jackie, Caroline, John-John, and three guests, sailing aboard their sailboat, The VICTURA. This photograph hung in the White House, and was one of Kennedy's personal favorites. The Kennedy family's love of the sea is well-documented; Kennedy himself was very fond of sailing, and the beloved twenty-six foot Victura was given to him for his fifteenth birthday by his parents. He once said: ""We are tied to the ocean. And when we go back to the sea à we are going back from whence we came"". Slight wear to lower right corner, otherwise handsomely framed in a simple silver and black frame, and ready for display. Ex-Guernsey's John F. Kennedy sale, with a copy of the original auction receipt.
