(1917 - 1963) Thirty-fifth President of the United States. Kennedy faced-down the Kruschev during the Cuban Missile Crisis, re-invigorated NASA, and signed the Nuclear Test Ban Treaty. Assassinated. Exceedingly rare, fine content T.L.S. as President on White House letterhead, 1p. 4to., Washington, Aug. 20, 1963, to American General OMAR BRADLEY. In part: "...In a letter which I am sending to Clarence B. Randall today, I am accepting the suggestion that the Advisory Panel on Federal Salary Systems that it be discharged from further official responsibility. I express to you my deep appreciation of the outstanding public service which the Panel has rendered...The Reports of the Panel are important base lines for Federal salary legislation and administration of our compensation systems...". Bradley left active service in August, 1953, occupying himself in industry and consulting periodically for military and civilian leaders. Boldly signed and very good. Sold with a handsome portrait, well-suited to display.
