(KENNEDY ASSASSINATION INVESTIGATION)
Exceptionally rare signed book, Texas Supplemental Report on the Assassination of President John F. Kennedy and the Serious Wounding of Governor John B. Connally, hardcover, an official State of Texas publication, October, 1964, 20pp. octavo. In 1964 the State of Texas ordered its own investigation into the shooting of Kennedy, Connally, and Officer J. D. Tippitt, supplementing the report of the Warren Commission and to show that Texas ""shouldered its responsibility"" in the investigation. Interestingly, careful mention is also made that Oswald's civil rights were at no time reserved in any way, and attempts to explain away the lack of security which resulted in Oswald's murder by Jack Ruby. Finally, the report reaches the same conclusions as the Warren Commission, citing Oswald as the lone assassin, and finding no evidence of a conspiracy in the murders. The investigative committee was headed by Texas Attorney General WAGGONER CARR, and this volume has been inscribed and signed by Carr on the front flyleaf for Hon. Walter Knapp. Also included is a T.L.S. on official letterhead, 1p. 4to., Austin, Nov. 9, 1964 presenting the volume and mentioning his satisfaction that the investigation: ""àclears Texasàof all the unfounded chargesà"" Two pieces, fine. 2350
