(1815 - 1862) Union major general who served in Napoleon III's guard, lost an arm during the Mexican War, and led with distinction in the Peninsula campaign. He was killed at Chantilly. Partly-printed D.S. 4pp. folio, New York, Nov. 12, 1852, an indenture for ""...Philip Kearny of Lodi, in the township of Harrison...New Jersey"" granting his wife""...certain lot of land and premises, situated in the city of New York on the north side of Twenty-second street, between Broadway and Fourth avenue..."" for the sum of $6,300. Boldly signed by Kearny at conclusion. Folds and a couple of small holes along them, else very good.
