This exceptional cold-painted bronze by the American sculptor, Carl Kauba (1865-1922), depicts an indian with long feathered headdress stepping out of a canoe which bears a six-pointed star at one end. Measures 5.75" high, 9.75" wide and 5" deep and weighs 2 lbs. 8 oz. Signed "KAUBA" with additional impressed marks (likely foundry mark and numbers) which cannot be deciphered. This item resides on the Upper East Side of Manhattan in New York and may be seen by appointment.
