Born and raised in California, Kathy Wipfler has called Jackson, Wyoming home since 1978, drawn to
the open spaces and the spectacular scenery of the region. Kathy finds beauty not only in the landscapes,
but in the wildlife, domestic animals, and the rural ranch life. Her canvas captures a sense of place and an
emotional attachment to the scene. Kathy has been a dedicated Plein-Air painter since 1980. Wipfler's work
is included in many important shows, such as, the C.M. Russell Art Show, the Buffalo Bill Show, the Western
Vision's Show at the National Museum of Wildlife Art. She has also been in several shows at the Bradford
Brinton Museum in Sheridan, Wyoming. Governor Jim Gerringer commissioned Kathy to produce a print,
which he and his wife presented to 22 Governors and 3 Canadian Premiers at the annual Western States
Governor's Conference. Kathy has work included in the permanent collection of the Kriendler Gallery of
Contemporary Art at the Buffalo Bill Historical Center, Cody, Wyoming, and her work was featured in the
Nov./Dec. 1999 issue of Art of the West.
