KARL J. KUERNER (AMERICAN, B. 1957) ‘WIND CHILL’ PAINTING. Brandywine River School. Acrylic. Depicts Kuerner’s wife, Anna, in winter scene. Signed in lower left. 15.5” x 40”. Not examined out of frame. 25” x 49” framed. Kuerner was a student of Carolyn Wyeth (1909-1994). In 1948, Andrew Wyeth began painting Karl and Anna as well as their farm in Chadd’s Ford, Pennsylvania. For nearly 30 years, the Kuerners and their farm were the subject of Wyeth’s works. It was through the Kuerners that Wyeth met model, Helga Testorf. From the Estate of Alice B. Biggs.
