Burger signed Supreme Court decision ''Citizens Against Rent Control…v. City of Berkeley, California…'' Stapled document includes 2pp. syllabus and 9pp. decision. Boldly signed ''Warren E. Burger'' at top of first page of syllabus. This 1981 opinion addressed a Berkeley ordinance limiting contributions to committees formed in support of ballot measures to $250. Writing for the majority, Chief Justice Burger held such a restraint was a violation of the First Amendment. Minimal toning. An excellent Court memento in near fine condition.
