German physician (1822–1874) who took a critical view of medical care to the people of Berlin. Original 2.5 x 4 carte-de-visite photo, signed and inscribed under the image in black ink in German “For his honoured patron Dr. Pollak of Vienna (formerly of Persia) Dr. Julius Beer of Berlin, Prussian Doctor of Medicine since 1847. The picture was taken on December 8, 1867.” In fine condition, with a bit of scattered light soiling.
