Letter datelined New York, 8 April 1887 reads in part, ''…I have just now read your letter & have already addressed it to Laleson Center (?) as it seems to be a friendly letter. I want you to come to (see) me when you come to N. York. I think Ulysses wife or Jesse would be pleased to go to Washington if they were notified (but do not mention that it was suggested to The Dr. as committed)…With great love all ways…'' 2pp. pencil letter measures 4.5'' x 6.75''.
