<B>Jules Grevy, President, French Third Republic, Letter Signed.</B></I> "<I>Jules Grevy</B></I>" one page 9.5" x 14", Paris, March 3, 1887, in French. Addressed to Ulysse Heureaux, the President of the Dominican Republic. Though Grevy, who served as president from 1879 to 1887, was well respected for his quiet, sensible dignity, nevertheless he was forced to resign seven months after this letter was signed. Heureaux, however, would not even be given this consideration, as he was assassinated only 58 days after this letter was signed.
