Vintage matte-finish 8 x 7.5 photo of Garland on the set of Summer Stock, her last film for MGM, selecting her personal stationery with its designer James Courtney looking over her shoulder, signed and inscribed in blue ink, presumably to Courtney, “To Jimmy–with love from Judy.” Caption affixed to lower right reads: “James Courtney with Judy Garland on the set of Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer’s ‘Summer Stock’ (Judy’s last film for MGM) selecting her personal stationery, designed, created & hand lettered for her by Mr. Courtney 1949.” In very good condition, with trimmed edges, light emulsion chipping to right edge, light silvering to darker areas, and a reddish fingerprint touching Garland’s sleeve and the easel. Pre-certified PSA/DNA and RRAuction COA.
